Warmer weather

The weather has been getting warmer and the sun is going down later in the day. We're excited at the different opportunities that spring and summer can bring us. The girls have walking and getting around great. Kate and I let them test their boundaries (maybe too often) but they haven't really gotten any bruises or anything yet. So I don't know what to think about that. I guess we should knock on wood a couple of times, we should be thankful that they have good coordination, and we should definitely expect that bruises, bumps, and scrapes are coming.

Here are a couple of pics in the warm weather:

The girls had their first picnic. This picture of Madison pretty much sums up her personality.

Yes, at the time, we didn't realize that Melanie was sucking on a wine cork.

And I guess she was also sucking on the wine bottle.

Grandma Marcia got the girls a wagon. They love their "wa-wa." We haven't used a stroller for walks in awhile.

Katy also wanted the trailer for the back. I know it can be useful, but at first, I was wondering what we could put in there. This is the first thing that came to mind.

Living in a townhouse kind of limits our outdoor activities around the outside of the house. We can go to the park and play in the playground. But if we wanted to swing at home, we just need to hook the swings to the garage. Not the actual garage, but the frame around it. It works just fine and the girls love it. Below is Melanie.

The girls vocabulary is also growing. They are pretty good in repeating one or two syllable words that we ask them to. Its just a matter of them saying the words on their own. It's a great stage and we're enjoying it immensely. Kate and I compiled a little list of words that they can say on their own:
